You can engage the hold button easily while it is in the armband, but there isn't an opening for it... you kinda have to do it blindly, but it's easy.

I picked up the Nike+ armband yesterday and went running with it last night. Gotta say, it sure beats holding the iPod in my hand!
The material is very light, quite soft, and while it is on my arm it feels like nothing at all. Very comfortable.
I also like how it recesses itself on the inner-side of the armband--well protected from sweat and has no chance of slipping out.
Overall, I'd say it is well-worth the 30 bucks.

I had a dog chase me during my morning run today. While trying to get away from the dog I dropped my nano on the street. Luckily there was no damage but now I think I am going to get the Nike arm band.
